Architectural Technician

When you hear someone tell you ‘I’ve a job for the best housebuilder in the Northwest’ (in this case, an Architectural Technician), it can be a subjective boast. Why do you think they’re the best?  What information do you have to come to that conclusion?

Is it because their sites win the most amount of awards with the highest percentage doing so in the Northwest? Is it because they’ve got an incredibly low staff turnover which in part is due to the excellent promotion and salary benefits within the company? Or is it because they’ve not renegaded on quality with many industry insiders who don’t have ‘skin in the game’ stating that they are the best builder out there (just ask me who when we speak)? It’s ‘yes’ to all these.

It's taken me years to crack them, simply because it’s a great sell for any recruiter – they are the best at the moment and have been for a few years – and as the Architectural Technician joining the company you’d be joining a Technical team whose Director has been in the business 5 years and Engineering Manager 10 years (with several promotions), a solid team who put an emphasis on promoting from within.

They’d want you to come from a solid housebuilding background (or a strong consultancy background) with the Technician’s you’d be joining having around 10 years’ experience each. It’s a new role due to the volume of work – their sites are still selling very well, despite the downturn in open market sales at the moment - but they do give you flexibility with your working day. There’s a day at home if you need it and they’ll also give you the option to start early/leave late or vice versa. And Friday is ALWAYS an early finish.

There’s a bonus scheme which is almost always paid in full. There’s a car or car allowance included. And one major benefit that isn’t really offered elsewhere – you’d get a fuel card in addition. Salary wise, we’re pitching around £40,00 at the moment BUT there’s some sway/negotiation to be had so let’s talk and see if this is a fit for your next move.
