One of the Northwest’s leading Civil Engineering firms are looking to appoint a Health and Safety Manager at a critical point in their growth, one which has seen that quick growth cover several sector during the last few years, and although their strengths have enabled them an excellent reputation for their business in delivering ‘top, top quality jobs with excellent profit margins,’ they are now looking to hone their strategy over the next period of growth – one in which you’ll come into the business as the Health and Safety Manager to help achieve that target.

You would be the first permanent Health and Safety Manager coming into the business. They’re a tight and already successful company so you don’t need to come in and re-invent the wheel, but they would be looking for your considerable experience in the usuals (site visits, audits, tickets and qualifications, client meetings, presentations) covering sectors such as housing, utilities, highways etc. PLUS anything else you feel you could implement to help them kick-on – there’s some decent scope for you to work with.

A business which has been around over 20 years and working in several different civil engineering sectors in the Northwest and beyond, they’re still a ‘grounded’ business at heart who prefer the ‘common-sense and switched-on’ approach. The next 12-months pipeline is already secure and whilst they’re in a great place, you’d come in to help ‘bring the business to the next level’ – they’re currently looking at a few top-level appointments to help them professionalise.

The package, as always for these roles, is negotiable but we’d be looking at a base between £60,000 to £70,000 plus a car package on top. From my conversations, performance is always rewarded, too, so the end figure could be a decent amount higher over the year.
